Women's basketball senior Young changes name to Coleman-O'Bryan

January 07, 2020

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi senior women's basketball student-athlete Emma Young has officially changed her name to Emma Coleman-O'Bryan. This follows the completion of an official adoption process that took place over the holiday break in Coleman-O'Bryan's home state of Kentucky.

A note of the name change will be available in all athletic department publications as both sets of last names may still appear in places during the transition. NCAA official statistics may still refer to the last name of Young for archive purposes, which also appear on GoIslanders.com.

In her four seasons at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Coleman-O'Bryan has appeared in 105 games, making 83 starts entering the week. She was a Southland Honorable Mention performer as a sophomore and is just 48 points away from scoring 1,000 points in her career. She has also racked up 571 rebounds, 243 assists and 122 steals during her time as an Islander.
