- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball team fell in a close contest to Southeastern Louisiana, 48-44 on Saturday afternoon at the University Center in Hammond, Louisiana.Â
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi moves to 9-5 and 3-1 in the Southland, while the Lions improve to 4-9 and 2-2 in conference action.Â
- Trailing by as many as 13 points in the contest, the Islanders clawed their way back in the second half, holding the Lions scoreless for the first 6:56 of the third frame. A&M-Corpus Christi scored eight straight points coming out of halftime to tie the game at 28-28.Â

- Bryant led the Islanders' offense with 15 points, shooting six-of-nine from the floor and three-of-three at the free throw line. The senior now has eight double-digit scoring performances this season and 30 for her career. Bryant also led the team with eight rebounds, nearly missing out on the 10th double-double of her career.Â
- Booth was second player to reach double figures with 13 points; she also added three rebounds and one block in 33 minutes of action.Â
- Young and Evans each added five points. Evans filled the stat sheet as she recorded three rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.
- Matthews grabbed six rebounds while Young and
Alecia Westbrook each collected five.Â
- A&M-Corpus Christi won the battle of the boards, grabbing 37 rebounds compared to the Lions 27. As a unit, the blue and green shot four-of-10 from beyond the arc for 40-percent.Â
- Both teams combined to shoot a total of just 23 free throws, as the Islanders shot 10-of-15 from the charity stripe, while the Lions converted on six-of-eight.Â

- Young's five points today put her just 48 away for 1,000 points for her career. She currently sits in the No. 10 slot with 952 points.Â
- The duo of Booth and Bryant continue to battle back and fourth for the team lead in blocks, as both entered today's contest with 18 so far this season. Booth's one block today puts her just two away from No. 3 slot and eight away from No. 2 spot. Bryant also added a block to move into a tie for No. 7 all-time with 85 through just two seasons.Â
