Baseball falls in SFA series finale, 3-0

- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi baseball program dropped the rubber match contest against Stephen F. Austin on Saturday afternoon, faltering by a final 3-0 margin to the Lumberjacks at Chapman Field in Corpus Christi, Texas.
- Bolstered by a strong performance from starter Trayson Kubo (6.0 IP, no runs on four hits), SFA pieced together the win behind solo runs across three separate frames. Despite the Islanders threatening on a few occasions -- stranded six runners on the day -- the Lumberjacks bullpen managed to contain any late scoring attempts, sealing the win behind three different pitchers in the ninth.
- On the year, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi falls to 25-18 overall and 11-10 in league competition.
- Stephen F. Austin, meanwhile, improves to an 18-22 record with a 11-7 mark in Southland play.

Islander Statistics
- The Islanders scored no runs on five hits with three errors while SFA posted three runs on eight hits with no errors.
- Nick Anderson led the team behind a 2-of-3 showing at the plate, picking up one walk in the process.
- Three other Islanders contributed to the final hit tally, including Mike Williams, Steven Rivera-Chijin and Cole Fluta.
- Despite Leo Perez (1-2) absorbing the loss, the sophomore notched a solid 5.0 innings on the hill, surrendering just one run on four hits with three strikeouts. The remaining four frames were handled by five separate relievers -- A.G. Ayala, Tyler Miller, Luke Malone, Dylan Duarte and David Worrell -- retiring a joint four on strikes while combining for two runs allowed on four hits.
