Baseball drops series opener to SFA

Story Headlines
- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi baseball program faltered in Thursday evening's series opener against Stephen F. Austin, falling by a 6-1 decision to the Lumberjacks at Chapman Field in Corpus Christi, Texas.
- SFA kicked off the game with a couple runs to earn an early lead, eventually pushing that margin up to six before the Islanders managed to find the scoreboard. Notably, Blue & Green pitcher Tyler Miller worked his way through 3.0 frames in primary relief, containing the Lumberjacks to no runs and no hits while the AMCC offense attempted to manufacture a comeback bid.
- On the year, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi falls to 24-17 overall and 10-9 in league competition.
- Stephen F. Austin, meanwhile, improves to an 17-21 record with a 10-6 mark in Southland play.

- After Burts and Sanchez Jr. led off the sixth frame with back-to-back singles, Williams pushed across the Islanders' lone run on a hard-hit blast through the left side, erasing the potential shutout by the Lumberjacks.
