- After
Mike Williams managed to reach first on a fielder's choice midway through the eighth, Marbach pushed a double down the left-field line, escorting the former home and scoring the Islanders first run of the game.
Steven Rivera-Chijin moved Marbach over the third on a sacrifice hit, setting up the junior to score on a passed ball during the final at-bat of the inning.

Joey Werner drove a pitch deep into left center, setting himself up in scoring position at second base.
Tyler Mendoza stepped in to pinch run prior to the next at-bat, and moved over to third after
Nick Anderson pushed a sacrifice hit up the left-field line. Burts managed to bring the run home with a single driven up the middle, plating Mendoza and cutting the Lamar lead down to just four, 7-3.
