- A pair of singles by Burts and Sanchez Jr. plus a
Mike Williams walk loaded the bases early in the first, and a
Luke Marbach hit-by-pitch scored the game's first run. Jeffries put the ball in play during the next at-bat, allowing Sanchez Jr. to score from third, before Taylor jacked his first homer over the right-field fence for three more runs and a 7-0 edge.
- After
Nick Anderson reached on a hit-by-pitch one out deep in the second, Burts scored the senior behind a deep triple to left center for his first RBI of the day. A balk during the Islanders' next at-bat allowed the junior to tack on one more for a 7-0 lead.
- With the game knotted at seven apiece, Jeffries and Taylor notched back-to-back RBIs for a quick reclamation of the lead, now a 9-7 margin.
- The Blue & Green got back on the board in the sixth, as Williams picked up a two-out triple and Marbach drove him home with a double one at-bat later.
- With the bases loaded late in the seventh, Sanchez Jr. punched a single into left field, picking up two more runs and pushing the Islanders lead up to five.
- After Marbach opened the eighth by reaching on an error, Jeffries managed to post another RBI with a double to right center. With the bases loaded later in the frame, Burts shot a pitch up the middle, plating two for his final RBIs of the game and a solid six-run edge.
- With Williams on following a leadoff walk, Taylor dropped a two-out homer over the left-field fence, locking in the 17-9 final score for the Blue & Green.
