Islanders close out regular season with Houston Baptist

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball team (14-14, 8-9 Southland) wraps up the 2018-19 regular season campaign Saturday afternoon against Houston Baptist (8-19, 3-14 Southland), tipoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the American Bank Center. Immediately preceding gametime, the program will conduct Senior Day for Uri Jolivette, celebrating the forward's four seasons as an Islander. Earlier this season, the Blue & Green managed to upend HBU in a 70-56 road victory, locking up the win behind double-digit performances from juniors Emma Young (21), Dae Dae Evans (15) and Alexes Bryant (12). All-time, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi owns a slight edge over the Huskies, holding an 8-5 overall mark with a near-perfect 4-1 home record.

  • Royce Chadwick enters his seventh season leading Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and 35th overall year as head coach, sporting a 657-416 record.

Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Islanders shift focus to the first round of the Southland Conference tournament in a decisive win-or-go-home matchup against New Orleans, tipoff set for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 14 at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas.
