Islanders drop 12-2 decision at No. 20 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi baseball program (9-5-0, 0-0 Southland) fell in a tough non-conference matchup at No. 20 Texas A&M (12-2-0, 0-0 SEC) on Wednesday evening, faltering by an eventual 12-2 mark at Blue Bell Park in College Station, Texas. Despite posting runs both the second and sixth frames, the Blue & Green were unable to contain the Aggies' power-hitting offense, opting to enforce the mercy rule as A&M reached a 10-run lead in the seventh. The loss snaps the Islanders' seven-game win streak as the team enters Southland Conference action later this week, set to kick off with a three-game series starting Friday, Mar. 8 at Incarnate Word.
