KATY, Texas -- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball team (14-15, 8-10 Southland) kicks off the first round of the 2019 Southland Conference Tournament with seventh-seeded New Orleans (12-15, 8-10 Southland) on Thursday afternoon, tipoff slated for 1:30 p.m. at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas. The Islanders managed to split the home-and-home series against UNO this season, initially knocking off the Privateers by a 57-51 margin at home before dropping a two-point loss in Louisiana. Alexes Bryant led the way in both matchups for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, posting a pair of double-doubles. All-time, the Blue & Green own a slight edge over the Privateers, holding an 8-3 overall mark with a 1-0 neutral record.
