Women's Basketball wraps up road stretch at Southeastern Louisiana

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball program (11-8, 5-3 Southland) closes out its two-game road trip Wednesday evening at Southeastern Louisiana (8-12, 3-6 Southland), tipoff set for 7 p.m. at the University Center in Hammond, La. In last season's home matchup with the Lady Lions, the Islanders edged out SLU in a tight 56-52 victory, utilizing performances from Giana Wright (nine points), Emma Young (seven points) and La'Janeira Robinson (seven points) to secure the win. All-time, the Blue & Green have dominated Southeastern Louisiana, notching a 10-5 overall mark with a 4-2 away record.

  • Royce Chadwick enters his seventh season leading Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and 35th overall year as head coach, sporting a 654-410 record.

After closing out the road trip at Southeastern Louisiana, the Islanders return to Corpus Christi for their Homecoming matchup against Incarnate Word, squaring off with the Cardinals on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. at the American Bank Center in the opening game of a doubleheader with men's basketball.
