Women's Basketball returns home for SFA matchup

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball program (12-11, 6-6 Southland) shifts focus to upsetting league-leading Stephen F. Austin (21-3, 12-0 Southland) on Wednesday evening, tipoff with the Ladyjacks scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Dugan Wellness Center. In last season's road battle in Nacogdoches, then-sophomores Dalesia Booth (13), Emma Young (7) and Dae Dae Evans (7) all posted major contributions as the Islanders faltered by one point, 59-58. All-time, the Blue & Green have struggled against SFA, sitting at a 2-19 overall mark with a 2-9 home record.

  • Royce Chadwick enters his seventh season leading Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and 35th overall year as head coach, sporting a 655-413 record.

After facing off against the conference's top squad in SFA, the Islanders wrap up their two-game home stretch with league No. 2 Lamar, battling the Cardinals at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 in the American Bank Center.
