HAMMOND, La. -- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi softball program (1-8, 0-0 Southland) completed their second day of the Lion Classic, falling to Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 4-2 and 8-4 to fellow Southland opponent Southeastern Louisiana (6-4, 0-0 Southland).
GAME ONE
The Islanders hit their offensive stride early in the first inning, as they pushed ahead of SIEU 2-0. Southern Illinois-Edwardsville managed to knot the score at two apiece late in the second, and extended their lead to 4-2 with two additional runs earned at bottom of the third and sixth inning. Despite attempts from the Islanders to to take back the game, the Cougars pitching staff remained composed and sealed the 4-2 victory.

GAME TWO
After a close loss to SIEU, the Islanders started off their second game with an offensive mindset, managing a 2-0 lead early in the third inning. Southeastern was able to knock on the board late in the fifth frame, composing a four-run offensive streak. Trailing the Lady Lions 4-2, the Blue & Green cut the lead 4-3 early in the sixth but was not able to pull the game in their favor as Southeastern closed with another four-run streak for a final score of 8-4.
