Story Headlines
- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball program (12-10, 6-5 Southland) came up marginally short at Sam Houston State (13-9, 8-4 Southland) on Wednesday evening, dropping a back-and-forth matchup to the Bearkats 61-59 at the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, Texas.
- While junior
Emma Young led the team behind her double-double, posting a game-high 23 points and pulling down a team-best 13 rebounds, fellow junior
Alexes Bryant stole the show with a double-double of her own. Along with her 14 points, the JUCO transfer tallied a Southland Conference single-game record 15 blocks against the Bearkats, breaking not only the individual mark but the team one as well. Further, Bryant's career night vaulted her into a tie for first in the school single-season record book, jumping five players up to a total 55 on the year thus far.
