- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi outrebounded UTSA, 44-34, and forced 17 turnovers.
- The Islanders outscored the Roadrunners, 35-34, in the second half.

Elijah Schmidt set a season-high with 10 rebounds with four coming on the offensive glass. He scored seven points and picked up two steals defensively in 27 minutes.
- The Roadrunners' Jhivvan Jackson scored 22 points with eight rebounds and teammate Byron Frohnen added 13 points with seven rebounds.

- After being outrebounded, 34-31 in the first game of the year, the Islanders have been +32 on the glass in the past six games combined.
- The 45-25 rebound advantage against UTRGV (11/17) was the largest of the season.
- A&M-Corpus Christi is now ranked third in the Southland with a +4.1 rebound margin.

WELCOME BACK MYLES
- A great sight for Islander fans has been the return of junior guard
Myles Smith who missed a majority of the 2018-19 season with an injury.
- Smith has scored in double figures in four of the six games he has appeared in this season.
- After sitting out in the Islanders' victory over St. Thomas on Nov. 23, Smith came back and scored a career-high 23 points against UTRGV in the South Texas Showdown a week later, connecting on 7-of-13 field goal attempts and 7-of-8 free throws.
- Smith's previous career-high came on Nov. 15 against Stony Brook where he scored 22 points. - At 13.8 points per game, he is scoring at a higher rate than either of his previous seasons on the Island. He is also rebounding at a career-high rate at 5.0 boards per contest.
HAIRSTON'S DEBUT
- Freshman guard
Jordan Hairston made his Islander debut against UTRGV on Nov. 30, scoring four points with two rebounds.
- He hit a go-ahead three pointer with 2:59 to play in the second half against UTRGV and gave the Islanders the lead for good with a free throw at 2:03.
