Smith scores career high 23 in win at UTRGV

- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi men's basketball team defeated UTRGV, 55-52, on Saturday evening at the UTRGV Fieldhouse in Edinburg, Texas.
- Myles Smith scored a career-high 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting. He had six rebounds, two steals and an assist while going 7-for-8 from the charity stripe.
- The Islanders have now won three-straight games and are 3-4 on the season. UTRGV falls to 2-5 with the loss.
- Saturday's game was the second meeting of the South Texas Showdown, presented by NavyArmy Community Credit Union.
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi took the earlier meeting, 63-55, in Corpus Christi back on Nov. 17, to sweep the series and secure six points in the standings.
