Soccer defeats Nicholls 2-0 on Friday night

Story Headlines
- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi soccer team defeated Nicholls State University on Friday night by a score of 2-0 at the Dr. Jack Dugan Soccer and Track & Field Stadium.
- The Islanders move to 5-5-1 and 2-1-1 in the Southland Conference, while Nicholls falls to 3-7-1 and 0-4 in conference play. 
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is now undefeated in its last three matches and are winners of four of their last six. 
- Tonight's match marks the first home contest for the Islanders since Sept. 6 against Texas Southern. 
- After a scoreless first half, the Islanders collected two goals in the final 15 minutes of play, as Abby Deakin and Dana Curtis each recorded a goal apiece. 

Key Islander Statistics
- Deakin scored her team leading fifth goal of the year in the 75th minute of play off the assist from Ana Recarte-Pacheco
- Less than 12 minutes later, Curtis would add the second goal of the night for the Islanders coming from Larissa Fagundes
- As a team, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi recorded 21 total shots with 12 coming on goal, compared to the Colonels' four shots,  three on goal. 
- Curtis led the A&M-Corpus Christi offense with six total shots and three on goal, followed by Deakin who recorded four shots with two on goal. 
- Fagundes collected three total shots with two on goal, and Emma Gibbs, Celia Hilsabeck, Addison Urbanus and Kayla Gove each had two shots. 
- Both Fagundes and Recarte-Pacheco each recorded an assist in tonight's match. 
- The Islanders pitched a shutout with Kyleigh Hall in goal, along with defenders Shayla Spearman, Samantha Palomino, Megan Dodd, Alana Mangan, Jaedyn Johnson and Maddie Janolo
- Hall recorded three saves in 90 minutes of action, earning her fifth shutout of the year.
