Women's Basketball returns to action against Sam Houston State

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball program (8-6, 2-1 Southland) continues the three-game home stand as the team hosts Sam Houston State (7-6, 2-1 Southland) on Wednesday evening, tipoff set for 7 p.m. at the Dugan Wellness Center. The Islanders swept the Bearkats last season, posting an average 12-point margin of victory across the pair of conference wins; then-sophomore Dalesia Booth compiled double-digit performances in both games while fellow teammates Emma Young and Dae Dae Evans earned one apiece. All-time, the Blue & Green dominate the series against Sam Houston State, owning an 18-9 overall mark with a 10-3 home record.

  • Royce Chadwick enters his seventh season leading Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and 35th overall year as head coach, sporting a 651-408 record.

Following the midweek matchup with Sam Houston State, the Islanders double-down with the men's basketball program on Saturday, Jan. 19, hosting New Orleans at 2:30 p.m. at the American Bank Center with the men to follow at 5 p.m.
