Men's basketball adds Jake Babic

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi head men's basketball coach Willis Wilson has announced the addition of Jake Babic to the 2018-19 roster. Babic spent three seasons at Appalachian State University and will have one year of eligibility remaining.
 
"Jake brings an abundance of experience, a high basketball IQ and veteran leadership to our young team and program," said Wilson. "I like his versatility. He has the ability to play all three positions on the perimeter."
 
While with the Mountaineers, Babic appeared in 90 games over three season, making 15 starts. The 6-5 combo guard averaged 4.3 points 1.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists. He shot 79.1 percent from the charity stripe his senior season and shot 69.8 percent for his career.
 
The Oakville, Ontario, native played for the Kiski School where he averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists. He was named team MVP and was a National Prep Tipoff Invitational all-star selection. He played on the U17 Team Canada National Team and won a national championship with Team Ontario. At St. Ignatius of Loyola, he averaged 21.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists and was named the St. Ignatius Male Athlete of the Year as a senior. Babic also played baseball, soccer and volleyball.
