Softball falls to McNeese State

Lake Charles, La. - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi fall behind early on Saturday, as the Cowgirls win the final game of the series, 10-2. McNeese State came out strong to start the game with 7 runs in the first inning. After falling behind 9-0, the Blue and Green scored 2 in the top of the 5th. 

AT THE PLATE 
>> Keagan Helson went 2-for-3 from the plate on the day
>> Whitney Wendel hit an RBI to score the first run for the Islanders

IN THE CIRCLE
>> Ashley Smith and Alexis Tovar both took the circle for the Islanders
>> The pitchers threw a combined 8 walks and 1 strikeout

>> Piancastelli tripled to right scoring McClain
>> Catron reached 1st but got caught stealing for the Islanders first out
>> Brown singled on a bunt advancing Wright to 2nd
>> Piancastelli scored on a wild pitch

>> Alexis Tovar came into pitch for Ashley Smith
