CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Islanders fall to the Privateers in the first round of the Southland Conference Tournament 83-76. Senior guard
Joseph Kilgore scored 29 points in his senior finale as an Islander.

Kilgore started off the game in Joe "so-slow" fashion with a monstrous dunk to put the Islanders on the board. He would be responsible for the Islanders first six points of the game. He would end the first half with 14 points, followed by
Kareem South with eight.

In the second half, Kilgore would set the Islanders in motion scoring the first five points of the half. Sophomore guard
Perry Francois would throw down a dunk that would put the Islanders on a roll with points from Kilgore,
Colin Hale and South.

At the nine-minute mark, freshman guard
Myles Smith would hit back-to-back three pointers for the Islanders to make it a 10-point game. Hale followed with back-to-back points. He would come off the bench to score six points and three boards.

Smith would go on to nail a three-pointer that would put the Islanders within single digits with three minutes left on the clock.

The Islanders brought it within five before falling 83-76.

- Freshman guard Myles Smith shot 80 percent and was perfect beyond the arc.
- Senior guard Joe Kilgore put up 29 points with four rebounds and five steals.
