In the second half, Kilgore would set the Islanders in motion scoring the first five points of the half. Sophomore guard Perry Francois would throw down a dunk that would put the Islanders on a roll with points from Kilgore, Colin Hale and South.

At the nine-minute mark, freshman guard Myles Smith would hit back-to-back three pointers for the Islanders to make it a 10-point game. Hale followed with back-to-back points. He would come off the bench to score six points and three boards.

Smith would go on to nail a three-pointer that would put the Islanders within single digits with three minutes left on the clock.

The Islanders brought it within five before falling 83-76.
