BATON ROUGE, Louisiana  – The Islanders take the win over Jacksonville State 4-1 and fall to Southland Conference opponent Central 2-3 in the Louisiana State Invitational.

Jacksonville State vs. Corpus Christi (4-1)

Blue and Green's first pairing in
Selina Marolf (Bern, Switzerland) and
Abigail DeVido (Ashburn, Virginia) defeated JSU's Katie Will and Sadie Anderson in the first set 21-13, and breezed through the second set 21-12.
Rachel Young (Frisco, Texas) and
Madison Green (Dripping Springs, Texas), the Islanders number two pairing, won in easy fashion over the gamecocks 21-9 in the first set, fell 20-22 in the second set and took the victory 17-15 in set three.
Madi Fitzsimmons (Murphy, Texas) and
Maya Daukas (Santa Monica, California) defeated JSU 21-18, fell in set two 13-21, and took set three 15-8. Islanders number four pairing
Kayla Walker (Murrieta, California) and
Chloe Simon (Katy, Texas) took the win in both close sets 21-19 and 21-18.

Jenna Krenek (Houston, Texas) and
Naomi Overstreet (Oakland, California) fell 21-16 in set one and fought hard falling in set two 21-18.

Central Arkansas vs. Corpus Christi (2-3)

Islanders number two pairing in Green and Young took the first set against the sugarbears 21-12 and fell 18-21 in set two. They took the victory in set three 15-13. Pair three, Fitzsimmons and Daukas fell in set one 17-21, won 21-10 in set two and secured the victory 15-12 and in set three.

Devido and Marolf fell 21-11 in the first set and 21-17 in the second. Number four pairing in
Demi McInnis (Cypress, Texas) and
Chloe Simon fell in two sets 21-11 and 21-13. Krenek and Overstreet lost 21-12 in the first set and came back in the second set but ultimately fell 21-19.
