KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Islanders got sweet revenge on the Texas A&M – Kingsville Javelinas 3-2. The Islanders entered were coming off a loss last week from TAMUK where they lost 2-3 in Kingsville.
TAMUK vs. Corpus Christi (3-2)
Blue and Green's first pairing in
Selina Marolf (Bern, Switzerland) and
Abigail DeVido (Ashburn, Virginia) took the first set 21-14, and breezed through the second set 21-10.
Rachel Young (Frisco, Texas) and
Madison Green (Dripping Springs, Texas), the Islanders number two pairing won 22-20 in the first set and took the victory 21-15 in set two.
Jenna Krenek (Houston, Texas) and
Naomi Overstreet (Oakland, California) took home a victory for the Islanders at the number five spot. They took the first set 21-18, fell 15-21 in the second set and took the victory 15-11 in the final set.
Madi Fitzsimmons (Murphy, Texas) and
Demi McInnis (Cypress, Texas) started off slow at the number three match falling 12-21 but came back to win the second set 21-17. They fell in the third set 10-15. Islanders number four pairing
Kayla Walker (Murrieta, California) and
Chloe Simon (Katy, Texas) fought hard in both sets falling 19-21, 10-21.

The Islanders travel to Baton Rouge next weekend for the LSU Tournament. They will take on Jacksonville State, Arizona, Alabama-Birmingham, and Southland Conference rival Central Arkansas.
