Kareem South scoring their first points of the night starting a run for lslanders. South's points were followed by shots from Joe Kilgore and
Myles Smith. Kilgore capped off the first half with three straight jumpers, making it a three-point game going into halftime.

Corpus Christi came out a second half that mirrored the first, with a
Sean Rhea layup putting the Islanders within a single possession of tying the game.
Myles Smith hit a field goal to tie the game at 38 all at the 15-minute mark as the Islanders and Bearkats traded the lead 6 times in the second half alone. The Islanders nearly won the game on a last second shot by Kilgore.Â

The Islanders take on New Orleans for Homecoming on Saturday, February 10 at 7 p.m. on the Corpus Christi Athletic Club Court at the American Bank Center.
