Final Day for Weekend Tourney Ends with a Clash

Corpus Christi, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi went head-to-head for the second time against Utah State before facing Texas Southern in the final game of the tournament at Cabaniss field. The Aggies defeated the Blue and Green 15-0 in 5 innings off of their 17 hits. Shortly after, the Islanders came out strong before falling in the 5th inning against the Tigers.

Game One

Kandace Johnson took the pitchers circle in the first game of the day. She struck out 2 batters and walked 3. The 7 hits Utah State had in the top of the 2nd inning allowed them to score 7 making the score 9-0. A two-run-homerun in the top of the 4th and 4 runs in the top of the 5th increased the lead to 15-0.

>>The Aggies scored 3 to start off the game

Top of the Second
>>The 7 hits and 2 errors allowed Utah State to score 7 runs increasing the score 9-0

Bottom of the Fifth
>>Destiney Diaz reached on an error by short stop

Game Two
To finish the tournament, Ashley Smith took the mound only allowing 4 hits with 1 strikeout and 1 walk.

Top of the Fourth
>> Kaylon Dunn doubled to left before being advanced to third by a push bunt from Kandace Johnson
>> Destiney Diaz grounded out to pitcher for an RBI to score Dunn 
>> Whitney Wendel singled to third, advancing Kandace Johnson to third
>> Kayla Hoppens singled to right field for an RBI to score Johnson
>> Avery Ratcliff singled up the middle to score Wendel 
>> The Islanders took the lead 3-0

Bottom of the Fifth
>> The Tigers took the lead 4-3 off of 2 hits and 3 errors on the Blue and Green
