SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi fell in a doubleheader against Southern Illinois and Seton Hall in the UTSA Classic. This puts the Islanders at 1-2 for the year looking forward to games against ACU and UTSA this Sunday.
Game One
The Islanders trailed SIU 3-0 early in their morning game. To start of the bottom of the fourth,
Whitney Wendel drew a walk which eventually led to a run scored later in the inning off of a fielders choice.
Kandace Johnson came in relief of pitcher
Ashley Smith to finish out the game allowing 2 hits and 2 runs against the 14 batters she faced.

Game Two
In a game with the score going back and fourth in each teams' favor, the Islanders fell to Seton Hall on a pair of late runs, 10-8. To start off the game, lead-off hitter
Whitney Wendel hit her first homerun of the year while
Keagan Helson hit her second moon shot of the year against the Pirates in the fourth inning.
Kayla Sheridan went four-for-five at the plate with Wendel collecting three hits of her own.
