Men's basketball returns with test at Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi men's basketball team will travel to Stillwater, Okla., to take on Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Dec. 29, at the historic Gallagher-Iba Arena at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on Fox Sports Oklahoma (DirecTV Channel 675) and fans can tune in to 1440 AM KEYS for the Islanders' radio broadcast.

HISTORY WITH OKLAHOMA STATE
- This will be the 10th meeting between the two programs.
- The series has included seven games in Stillwater and two in Corpus Christi.
- The last meeting took place back on Dec. 22, 2016, with Oklahoma State winning 92-70.
- Ehab Amin scored 23 points with four rebounds and three steals while Rashawn Thomas had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds to go along with a pair of blocked shots.
- Kareem South started and played 25 minutes with seven rebounds and six points. Elijah Schmidt grabbed three rebounds and scored two points. Kyle Brown logged five minutes.
- All time against Big 12 member schools, the Islanders are 4-27 with victories over Baylor, Texas Tech and two over TCU.

COWBOY (5-6) NOTABLES
- Oklahoma State is 5-6 on the season and 3-1 in home games this year.
- The lone home loss came to Houston back on Dec. 8.
- The Cowboys have beaten UTSA, Charleston and Central Arkansas at home this year.
- Five players average double-figures on the year led by Cameron McGriff at 13.1 points per game.
- McGriff is also the team's leading rebounder at 7.3 per game and has recorded two double-doubles this season.
- Curtis Jones, a transfer from Indiana who became eligible two games ago, scored 23 points against Central Arkansas.
- Lindy Waters is one of the nation's best at the charity stripe. This season he has hit 35 of 37 attempts at the line (94.6 percent).

ISLANDERS LAST TIME OUT
- The Islanders fell on the road to Louisiana Tech, 73-68, on Saturday, Dec. 22, in the first meeting all time between the two programs.
- For the eighth time this year, the Islanders outrebounded their opponent, holding a 42-35 advantage on the boards over the Bulldogs.
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi shot 40.7 percent (24-for-59) from the floor and tied a season-best by hitting 80 percent (12-of-15) from the charity stripe.
- Elijah Schmidt scored a career-high 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting. He also grabbed six rebounds, had a steal and recorded an assist in 34 minutes
- Tre Gray hit a season-high four three pointers and finished with 13 points, two rebounds and an assist in 12 minutes.
- Jake Babic set a personal high with three blocked shots and tied a career-high with three made three-pointers, finishing with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.

CONTRIBUTIONS A TEAM EFFORT
- Already this season, the Islanders have had multiple players step up during games. Seven different players have led the team in scoring this season and six different players have led the team in rebounding.
- Myles Smith has four high-point totals to his credit while South has led the team in rebounding four times.
- Nine players this year are averaging 10 or more minutes in games.
