Key Islander Sequences
- Despite a slow start through the first quarter, the Islanders closed the period holding a 14-5 lead over the Celts. Out of the 14 points, eight of those came from the free-throw line. Evans ended the quarter with four of her eventual six points, working to spark a squad shooting just over 21 percent from the field, while Booth closed the quarter with three points.
- In the second quarter, the Blue & Green extended their lead to a 37-16 margin, entering halftime shooting much better (52 percent). The Islanders started off the quarter with a 8-0 run with four points from Bryant, two from
Emma Young, and two from Evans.
- After halftime, the Islanders continued their strong play, going on an 11-2 run to start the third quarter.
- The squad wrapped up the game with their best quarter efficiency-wise, as A&M-Corpus Christi outscored St. Thomas 27-12 to extend their lead and shot a game-best 61.1 percent from the floor.
