- After a battling through a competitive two-game road trip, the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball program (2-2, 0-0 Southland) returned home for its first matchup at the on-campus Dugan Wellness Center, faltering to former Southland Conference opponent Texas State (3-3, 0-0 Sun Belt) by a slim 60-53 margin.
- The Islanders surrendered their halftime advantage early in the third quarter and were never able to regain the lead; however, a major comeback attempt in the final two minutes of regulation pulled Texas A&M-Corpus Christi as close as three points (56-53) before the Bobcats managed to lock up the win behind a field goal and pair of free throws.

- Outside of a rough third quarter (16.7 percent, 2-of-12), the Islanders shot the ball tremendously well, notching 40 percent (4-of-10) in both the first and second periods and 44.4 percent (8-of-18) during the final quarter.
- On the night, the Blue & Green shot 36.0 percent (18-of-50) on field goals, 21.4 percent (3-of-14) from beyond the arc and 63.6 percent (14-of-22) at the charity stripe.

Alexes Bryant nearly pushed A&M-Corpus Christi over the top by the end of the tight matchup, as the duo combined for 38 points on the night. Foman, who dropped a career-best 22 points, also contributed two rebounds, one steal and one assist. Bryant, meanwhile, grabbed five rebounds to go along with her three blocks.

Emma Young and
Dalesia Booth led the rest of the squad with a combined 10 points, and the latter's lone block vaulted her into a tie for eighth all-time on the career block list (68).

- With Monday's matchup against Texas State wrapped up, the Islanders once again return to the road as the team travels to Edinburg, Texas, on Friday, Nov. 30 for the first of two matchups in the UTRGV Tournament, initially facing Louisiana-Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. before taking on Prairie View A&M the following day at the same time.
