- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi soccer program (5-7-3, 2-5-2 Southland) suffered a tough loss Friday evening at McNeese State (12-5-1, 6-2-1 Southland) in the first of two weekend matches, losing by a 3-1 mark to the surging Cowgirls.
- Despite trailing by three goals, sophomore Mariah Ramon fought back late in the 85' by notching her third score of the season, pushing her into the sole top spot on the team leaderboard.
- Sophomore Kyleigh Hall returned between the pipes in her usual Friday night role, surrendering three goals while making five saves.

Key Islander Statistics
- The Cowgirl offense diversified its attack across a variety of forwards and midfielders, earning goals from three separate players on the night. Statistically, this assorted pressure resulted in McNeese State outpacing the Islanders in nearly every major offensive category, including shots (16-11), shots on goal (10-9) and corner kicks (7-2).
- As has become custom, numerous Islanders competed for the entirety of the 90-minute match, including Hall and a pair of defenders -- sophomore Alexis Smith and freshman Marina Davidson.
