  • The Islanders came away with a one-point victory against Houston Baptist recently, riding Uri Jolivette's first career double-double (11/10)
  • LaJaneira Robinson also put up career numbers on the Huskies, with a personal best 11 points scored. That's three straight contests where the point guard has tied or broken her career-high in points, averaging eight a game over that period

SCOUTING THE LIONS
  • After starting the conference season off 0-5 the Lions have started to turn around their season, with three wins in the last four contests. All five of their SLC losses to start the season happened to the top-five teams in the conference

  • Southeastern's offense is led by senior guard Taylin Underwood. She currently sits 13th in the country concerning three-pointers, averaging a team-best 19.5 points per game
  • As a freshman, forward Caitlyn Williams has led the Lions on the boards with just under seven rebounds per game. In her first game as a collegiate the six-foot post player recorded a 13 and 11 double-double against Alcorn State

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS

  • The Cardinals have not won a game since January 6th, and are on a streak of six straight losses
  • UIW can hang its hat on its superior ability to obtain blocks this season, as the San Antonio based side is averaging nearly four swats per game
  • Quincy Baker and Sydnee Wynn hold 27 and 26 blocks respectively this year, just behind the Islanders' Dalesia Booth (28) for a conference lead
  • On the offensive side of the ball, sophomore guard Imani Robinson leads Incarnate Word with 11.8 points per game
  • UIW participated in a challenging non-conference schedule this year, culminating in three 40-plus point losses and two 50-plus point losses
COMING UP NEXT
After facing SLU at home the Islanders will travel over to San Antonio for a men's and women's basketball doubleheader against Incarnate Word. This will be the first of two meetings for the Blue and Green against both the Lions and Cardinals, and a prelude to a rematch with Sam Houston State next Wednesday inside the Dugan.
