Garland's Second Leg Sets National Record

NASSAU, Bahamas – Running at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Relays, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi track & field sprinter Angelo Garland guided his home nation of the Turks and Caicos Islands to a new national record in the 4x200-meter dash.
 
Garland's strong second leg in the second heat guided the relay team to a time of 1:26.22. The previous record was 1:27.70 set at the 2014 IAAF World Relays.

The Turks and Caicos Islands placed seventh in the heat and 12th in the event. The United States, the Bahamas and the People's Republic of China qualified for the finals out of Garland's heat.
 
The Islanders Track & Field team will travel to San Marcos, Texas, for the Bobcat Classic next Friday and Saturday.
