CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – In the penultimate week of the season, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball heads to Baton Rouge, La., for the Battle on the Bayou.

Hosted by nationally-ranked LSU, the Battle on the Bayou will see the Islanders play a trio of matches on the sand over two days. The Blue and Green will open with a doubleheader on Friday before rounding out the tournament with a single game on Saturday.

The Islanders will open their weekend in Baton Rouge with a noon start against Louisiana-Monroe. The Islanders and Warhawks have met twice already this spring with ULM having the upper hand in the previous meetings.

Later in the day, the Islanders will challenge Texas A&M-Kingsville for the first time the year. The Blue and Green will face the Javelinas for the first of three meetings in an eight day span as the two will battle again on Wednesday and the following Saturday.

Corpus Christi will finish off the Battle on the Bayou by facing the host LSU Tigers. The No. 7 team in the country, LSU and Corpus Christi met last weekend in Houston with the Tigers taking a 4-1 win. Saturday's meeting will begin at 11 a.m.

Following the weekend in Louisiana, the Islanders return to the Coastal Bend for the final three games of the season. The Blue and Green will travel to Kingsville on Wednesday before hosting TCU and Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday.
