Beach Volleyball Heads to Third Coast Classic

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Beach volleyball returns to action after a two-week break as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi heads to the Third Coast Classic hosted by Houston Baptist.
 
The Islanders will play a trio of matches across Friday and Saturday at the Classic, facing Louisiana-Monroe, New Orleans and HBU.
 
The Blue and Green will open the two-day tournament Friday afternoon with a 3 p.m. first serve against ULM. The Warhawks are in their fifth season of beach volleyball and sit at 4-5 on the season. The match with the Warhawks is the only battle for the Islanders on Friday.
 
Saturday brings two matches for the Blue and Green beginning with a 9 a.m. bout against New Orleans. The Privateers enter the tournament at 3-5 on the season with wins of Austin Peay and Huntingdon. The Islanders and Privateers have never clashed on the beach.
 
The final match brings a rematch with Houston Baptist who defeated the Islanders in the season opener. HBU is 5-5 on the year and is coming off a 2-2 performance at LSU's Tiger Beach Challenge.

Following the weekend in Houston, the Islanders travel to the ULM Bayou Beach Blast on March 31-April 1 in Monroe, La.
