CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –On the road for the final time in the regular season, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi aims to tie the program's longest winning streak at 10 games against Houston Baptist on Wednesday night.

The Islanders and Huskies are both battling for byes and potentially a double-bye at next week's Southland Conference Tournament in Katy. Corpus Christi sits tied for second with Stephen F. Austin while HBU sits fourth in the conference standings.

Rashawn Thomas matched a career high with 34 points and added 12 rebounds as the Islanders pulled away for a 90-79 win down the stretch.

The Islanders are one of the hottest teams in the nation, winning nine straight games after a 2-5 start to conference play.

Corpus Christi owns the ninth-longest active winning streak in the country. The Blue and Green have not suffered a loss in the month of February as the streak dates back to a road win at Lamar on January 25.

After two consecutive slow games offensively, Islanders guard
Ehab Amin exploded for a career night against McNeese on Saturday afternoon.

Amin racked up a career-high 31 points while crashing the glass for a career-best 15 rebounds. To make the day even more memorable, Amin broke the Islanders single-season steals record as he continues to lead the nation in swipes.
