CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – With four games remaining in the 2016-17 regular season, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team wraps up its road schedule on Wednesday with a trip to Abilene Christian.
 
The Islanders are tied for seventh in the Southland Conference standings for tournament eligible teams after a Homecoming loss to Lamar last Saturday.
 
Led by 17 points from Brittany Mbamalu and 16 by Dalesia Booth, Corpus Christi took a six-point lead into the fourth, but the Cardinals snuck out of the American Bank Center with a victory on the back of a 27-5 run in the final quarter.
 
REJECTION RECORD
>> The Islanders rank first in the Southland Conference in blocked shots and 84th nationally.
>> After swatting five shots against Lamar, Corpus Christi now has 100 on the season, just 13 shy of the school record set in 2003-04.
>> Ashanti Plummer and Camesha Davis have combined for 55 blocks this season, which is the most between two players since Terra Andrews and Jackie Ododa teamed up for 74 during the 2004-05 campaign.
