CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Riding a five-game winning streak, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi heads to San Antonio for a bout with the University of the Incarnate Word Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. at the McDermott Convocation Center.
 
The Islanders' five-game winning streak has propelled A&M-Corpus Christi into the fourth spot in the Southland Conference standings with six games to play. As it stands today, the Islanders would receive a first-round bye at the tournament.
 
FLIPPING FORTUNES
>> Wednesday's matchup at UIW brings a unique challenge for the Islanders. The McDermott Center is the only place the Islanders have yet to win a game in the Southland Conference.
>> The Islanders are 0-3 in San Antonio against the Cardinals.
 
THOMAS TERRORIZING AGAIN
>> In five games since returning to the court, Rashawn Thomas has produced four double-doubles and averaged an eye-popping 26.2 ppg and 10.8 rebounds.
>> During the stretch, Thomas has hit .583 from the floor in 35 minutes per game.
>> Of his 54 rebounds in the past five games, 18 have come on the offensive end. Thomas also has nine blocks to add to the recent domination.

>> Amin has also dished out 21 assists to average better than four per game along with 13 steals.

>> In their five-game winning streak, the Islanders have hit at a .400 clip beyond the arc compared to just a .345 clip by opponents.
>> The 40-percent mark from downtown is nearly .080 better than the Blue and Green's season average.
 
SCOUTING UIW
