• Kevin Palmer played the hero for the Blue and Green as he knocked home a game-winning three as time expired in the overtime session for an 80-79 victory.
• Palmer finished the game with a career-high 31 points.
• Palmer also finished with seven steals to set the Islanders' single-game record. That mark still stands to this day.
Â
ISLANDERS INSIGHT
Â
• Youth is the name of the game in 2017-18 as freshmen and sophomores account for 81 percent of the Islanders' minutes through the first three games of the season.
• Corpus Christi put forth its best offensive night of the year in the loss to UTRGV, shooting 45 percent from the field and 43 percent beyond the arc.
• Freshman Myles Smith continues to be a valuable weapon, scoring 15 against UTRGV. He now averages 10 ppg in just shy of 30 minutes.
• A win Sunday would mark the Islanders' third against a current member of the SEC.
• Corpus Christi has leaned heavily on Kilgore as the senior averages 38 minutes and leads the club in scoring.
Â
SCOUTING GEORGIA
Â
• The Bulldogs have one of the most talented players in the nation in Yante Maten. The senior is averaging 21.5 ppg and 13.0 reb.
• UGA boasts a deadly defense to start the season, holding its first two opponents to 31.3 percent from the field and 59.5 ppg.
• Georgia has struggled from the line in the first two games, shooting just 64 percent on freebies.
• Outside of Maten, UGA relies on Rayshaun Hammonds (15.0 ppg) and Turtle Jackson (12.0 ppg) for its scoring.
