CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's soccer team dropped its Sunday afternoon match at Southern Methodist 9-0.
The Mustangs (2-0-0) jumped out to an early lead with goals in the first, ninth and 10th minutes, before doubling up in the 13th minute. The hosts built a 6-0 lead at the halftime break.
Backstop Jordan Wainwright made a series of impressive stops in the opening 45 minutes for the Islanders (0-4-0). The Live Oak, Fla., native racked up 11 saves in her only half of action.
SMU topped the Islanders in shots 28-to-5Â and attempts on goal 20-to-0.
