CORPUS CHRISTI – The 2011 Texas A&M - Corpus Christi softball team, that went 41-19 and clinched the first Southland Conference title for the Islanders in program history, will be presented with their championship rings Saturday during intermission of the Islanders volleyball game vs. Southeastern Louisiana.
On May 8, the 2011 softball squad shutout UT Arlington, 2-0, to secure the regular-season Southland Conference Championship title, an accomplishment that no other Islanders softball team has achieved.
The Islanders recorded a 21-9 final mark in league play and went on to secure the No. 1 seed in the Southland Conference Tournament. All 17 players on the 2011 squad will receive rings, along with athletic trainer Suzy Schock.

Junior: Meagan McKinney
