As a Freshman:  Played in 39 games for the Islanders while starting 25, all of them at second base...hit for a .205 average during the year in 73 at-bats and drove in four runs...scored seven runs and drew four walks in addition to stealing three bases and having three sacrifice hits...recorded 56 putouts and 61 assists with four errors.

High School:  Played at Jack C. Hays High School for coach Joanna Farr...named 1st team all-district in 2007...batted .426 and had a perfect fielding percentage, committing no errors, during the 2007 season...led the Rebels to back-to-back third place finishes and playoff appearances in her junior and senior years...academic all-district in 2007 and 2008...also made 1st team all-district in basketball.

Personal:  Alejia Monae Cain was born Sept. 20, 1989 in Aurora, Ill....parents are Nesby and Shari Cain...majoring in English.
