Former Texas
A&M-Corpus Christi center Chris Daniels is one of 64 players
invited to participate in the NBA Pre-Draft Camp in
Orlando, Fla.
The San Antonio
native becomes the first player in Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
history to be invited to camp.
According to
draftexpress.com, the camp opened today with two hours of drills and informal five on five games
intended to instill some basic offensive sets for each of the six
teams.
Scouts from every NBA
team are in attendance, preparing for the June 26 NBA draft. Prior to the start of the
2007-08 season, Daniels was projected as a lower second-round
draft, but fell out of most projections once the season was
over.
The seven-footer was
also invited to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament along with
63 other players. In the
semi-final game of the tournament, Daniels had 12 points in the
win.
Of the 64 players
selected to play in Orlando, only Daniels and Joseph Jones of Texas
A&M come from college or university in the state of Texas.
