Payton Courier joined the staff of head coach Toyelle Wilson and the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team as the director of basketball operations/assistant coach in May 2025. The 2025-26 season will be her first with the program.

Courier follows Wilson to the Island after spending the last two years with the women's basketball team at Southern Methodist University (SMU). She started her time with the Mustangs as a graduate assistant in 2023, serving in that role before then being promoted to Assistant Director of Operations/Special Assistant to the Head Coach prior to the 2024 season. Her duties while in these positions consisted of assisting in organizing practices, managing team travel arrangements and helping with daily scheduling and program coordination, among others.

Prior to her time in Dallas, Courier served as a student assistant at Purdue Northwest during the 2022-23 season. She became a member of the staff with the Pride after finishing up her own playing career the year prior, joining the team for the 2021-22 campaign following three seasons at Western Illinois.

Courier graduated from Western Illinois with a bachelor's degree in Biology in 2023, and she would later earn her master's degree in Sports Management from SMU in 2025.
