Lee Malone began her second stint with Islanders Athletics in May 2018 and was elevated to Senior Associate AD for External Relations in Nov. 2023.

Malone has managed the two largest fundraising events in support of Islanders Athletics, Islander Athletic Fund Casino Night and the IAF Golf Classic. Both events continued to be successful under her leadership despite the challenges of the pandemic. The recent 2022 IAF Casino Night generated $144,000 for the department, a new record for the event.

In addition to her special events responsibilities, Malone has had oversight of all day to day marketing and promotional activities as well as all game day presentation elements. She has continued to develop the Deep End student section and successfully enhanced the overall game day environment for home sporting events, while collaborating with the division of Student Engagement and Success to enhance the game day experience for students and all fans.

Malone came back to the Island with seven-plus years of experience in intercollegiate athletics. She also spent over eight years as a marketing specialist for American Bank in Corpus Christi.

Malone's previous role at A&M-Corpus Christi was serving as Assistant AD for External Affairs during the 2005-06 academic year. Prior to that, she worked at UNLV as Director of Promotions and Licensing, and at UT Arlington as Assistant Sports Information Director and Marketing Intern.

Malone earned her bachelor's degree from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
