No stranger to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Devon Wilde began serving as Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development in Oct. 2023.
Wilde has worked at the University since June 2017 as an Assistant Director in Recreational Sports. She's also been an Adjunct Instructor of Kinesiology at A&M-Corpus Christi since Jan. 2021.
The Associate AD for Student-Athlete Development position seeks to lead Islanders Athletics' efforts toward the holistic development of student-athletes with an emphasis on career and personal development, community service, well-being, and leadership, and will serve as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Devon is currently finishing her EdD program from A&M-Corpus Christi with her dissertation focused on Sense of Belonging in Female Student-Athletes.
In addition to her previous duties in Rec Sports on campus, Wilde was also the Junior High Women's Basketball Coach for Annapolis Christian Academy in Corpus Christi from Oct. 2021-March 2022. She's been the Islanders Women's Basketball Club Advisor since 2017 as well as the Powerlifting Club Advisor since 2021.
Wilde completed her Bachelor's in Kinesiology in 2015 and Master's in Coaching, Sport, Recreation and Fitness Administration in 2017, both from Angelo State where she also played for the women's basketball team. She's currently on pace to earn a Doctor of Educational Leadership in Higher Education from A&M-Corpus Christi in May 2024.
