Cole Bailey joined the Islanders Athletics staff as the Media Relations Assistant in November 2024. He is currently responsible for sports information duties for women's basketball, baseball, soccer, track and field and cross country.

Prior to coming to the Island, Bailey most recently finished a stint with the Salt Lake Bees -- the Triple-A minor-league baseball affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels -- as a communications coordinator intern for the 2024 season. In this role, he assisted in all aspects of the team's PR and media relations efforts, including aiding in the creation and distribution of gameday materials for every game and helping with the creation of game highlights distributed to local media and used on the team's social media channels, among other responsibilities.

Bailey also previously served as a communications intern for USA Baseball, the national governing body for organized baseball in the United States. He worked at three different events in Arizona during this time -- the 2023 National Team Championships Arizona, the 2023 Women's National Open and the 2023 Women's National Team Training Camp -- while also serving as the main press officer for the organization's 12U National Team, which took home the gold medal at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-12 Baseball World Cup in Tainan, Taiwan.

Bailey graduated with his bachelor's degree in sports journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in May 2020.
