Chris Adams

Chris Adams was announced as the women's golf head coach for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in June 2024. 

Adams arrives to the Island after 17 seasons in Murfreesboro, Ten. as the Head Women's Golf Coach of Middle Tennessee State University. While working for the Blue Raiders she won back-to-back Conference USA Championships and qualified for the NCAA Regionals in 2015 and 2016. In 2022-23 she led MTSU to their first-ever National Golf Invitational berth.  

Her teams also won two Conference USA Championships and finished runner-up seven times while accumulating 15 team championships and 10 individual championships.  

Chris was selected as the Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year in 2012 and Conference USA Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2016. In that 2016 year, five individuals were named to All-Conference USA Teams.  

Adams was able to coach 32 Conference USA Academic Medal Winners, 60 Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll Members, 24 Sun Belt Commissioner's List Members and 35 Sun Belt Academic Honor Roll Members 

The Blue Raiders also held a perfect 1000 APR for nine consecutive seasons and 11 of 12 through the 2019-20 season, all under Adams. From 2013-2020 the program was recognized for being in the top 10% of all NCAA Division I golf programs in APR. From 2008-2023 she had 40 National Golf Coaches Association Academic All-Americans.  

Under Chris's leadership, many individuals have found success. She has led four players to seven USGA championships and had a student athlete win her first NCAA Championship. Adams also has coached 28 All-Conference individual selections.  

While at Arkansas State, Chris had two All-Sun Belt selections and led the team to its first tournament win in six years at the 2007 ULM/Fred Marx Invitational. Her program had four Athletic Director's Honor Roll and the Sun Belt's Commissioner's List honorees. Over a two year span the team lowered their stroke average by 13 shots. The academic success was top notch with 54 athletes on AD Honor Roll from Fall 2002 to Spring 2007 

Chris was at Wichita State from 1997 to 2002 and led her teams to runner-up finishes in the Missouri Valley Conference in 1998 and 1999. While there, the Shockers lowered the team scoring average by 10 strokes over two years and that led to scoring records in 1999, 2000, and 2001. While at Wichita State, she had 10 all-conference selections and three first-team selections to the MVC All-Scholar team. She also had 16 Valley "Golfers of the Week" and 16 on the Wichita State Athletics Director's Honor Roll. 

Chris Adams is a native of Beaver, Oklahoma and graduated from Kansas State University in 1991 earning her bachelor's degree in psychology. She was a member of the varsity golf team and received the Lucille Boyd Scholarship all four years, which was awarded to the school's top female golfer.
