Andrew Glass joined the staff of head coach Bryan Jackson and the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Track & Field program as the Throws Coach prior in May 2024. The 2026 season will be his second with the Islanders.
In his first season at the head of the Islanders' throws group in 2025, Glass helped bring an unprecedented level of success to the program. Between indoor and outdoor seasons, Glass's throwers combined to break nine different school records, including four from Emmanuel Ekuma (indoor and outdoor shot put, outdoor hammer throw, indoor weight throw), two from Cyan Green (outdoor shot put and indoor weight throw) and one each from Izac Canchola (javelin throw), Emily Malouf (indoor shot put) and Breyunna Dowell (outdoor hammer throw). At the Southland Conference Indoor Championships, Green and Malouf won gold medals in the weight throw and the shot put respectively, while Ekuma and Dowell took home silvers in the men's and women's weight throw. Two months later at the Outdoor Championships, Dowell earned silver in the hammer throw, Ekuma won a pair of bronzes in the hammer throw and the shot put, and Green and Alex Del Popolo took home one bronze apiece in the women's hammer throw and the men's javelin respectively. Finally, the quartet of Green, Dowell, Canchola and Del Popolo all managed to qualify for the NCAA West Region First Round.
Glass came to the Island with proven success at the Division I level, spending the previous four seasons at Stephen F. Austin building the SFA Throws crew and leading them to new heights. His athletes bested seven school records, including the Men’s and Women’s Hammer, Men’s and Women’s Javelin, Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Shot Put, and the Men’s weight throw. Glass also coached the multi event athletes in their throwing techniques.

Sultan Bakare broke the school record in the weight throw on his way to grabbing silver in the WAC conference championship as a sophomore. Bakare and freshman Emmanuel Ekuma finished second and third in the indoor shot put. Cyan Green took home a gold and a silver in the Women’s Weight Throw and Shot Put in the indoor championships. Junior Cole Szegda won the silver in the Men’s Javelin throw while also qualifying to the first round of the NCAA Championships.

Michelle Ogbemudia broke the indoor and outdoor shot put school record on her way to winning conference gold in both events. Izac Canchola won gold in the javelin throw, while Jayla Hooper broke the school record in the hammer throw. Ogbemudia, Canchola, and Hooper all qualified for the NCAA National Championship preliminary round, with Canchola qualifying for the final round. Semion Brodski and Angel Richmore, two multi event athletes, also brought home gold until Glass’ tutelage.
During the ‘22 season, Glass’ javelin throwers, Seri Geisler and Cord Neal, had exceptional senior seasons. Seri broke the school record in her first meet, won the WAC Championship, and qualified for the US Championships, taking 5th in the event. Cord Neal capped off a career with SFA Track and Field that included breaking his own school record and making his second trip to Eugene for the NCAA Championships where he placed 13th. In all, SFA thrower brought home 5 Conference medals (Geisler 1, Neal 1, Jayla Hooper x 3).
In Glass’s first year with the Jacks, he coached Trenton Bridges to a Southland Championship in the Hammer throw. He also sent three individuals to the preliminary round of the NCAA Championships, with two Izac Canchola and Cord Neal, qualifying for the final round at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The Glass led throwers including Bridges, Neal, Kevin Steward, and Bellodgia Roberson x 2 tallied a total of 5 Southland conference podium finishes on the year, helping the Jacks to three team titles on the season. The highlight however, came as Cord Neal qualified for the US Olympic trials in the javelin throw.

During his four seasons at Upstate he coached Kalyn Brown to a school record in the weight throw and Tony Auguste to a Conference title in the Hammer throw as a sophomore, this throw by Auguste broke the Haitian national record.
