Jones joined Shaw on the Island in December of 2016. He serves as the goalkeeper coach for the Blue and Green.
 
Prior to joining A&M-Corpus Christi, Jones was the second head coach in Washburn women’s soccer history. In two years with the Ichabods, he compiled a record of 14-18-6.
 
In his first season on the Ichabod sidelines, he led the Ichabods to a five-win improvement going 5-9-5 overall and 4-5-2 in the MIAA, tying for sixth place in the conference.
 
At Washburn, he coached 11 players to all-MIAA honors.
 
In the classroom during the 2015-16 season, the soccer team recorded a 3.51 cumulative GPA in the spring of 2015 and an overall GPA of 3.46.
 
Under Jones, the Ichabods have had 22 players named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and two students named to the MIAA Scholar Athlete list as well as two players who received the MIAA Academic Excellence Award after recording a 4.00 GPAs.
 
While earning his Master’s of Science in Health and Human Performance from Fort Hays State in 2015, Jones helped the Tigers to a record of 20-13-5 over two years, including the team’s highest-ever finish in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association standings in 2014.
 
Jones has helped coach 11 All-MIAA selections at Fort Hays State, including a program-best eight following the 2014 season. He also helped FHSU gain three Daktronics All-Central Region selections in 2014 including the program’s only first team all-region pick. He also helped guide three Tigers to NSCAA all-region accolades.
 
Jones previously served as the head coach and president of the University of Oklahoma Men’s Soccer Club from 2010-12. He graduated from Oklahoma in the spring of 2013 with a degree in Sociology after transferring from Northeastern State University, where he was a goalkeeper for the men’s team from 2007-2009.
 
He has a wide range of experience, including spending time as a practice player for the Oklahoma women’s team, which featured the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. Jones also spent the 2014 season as the head coach of Thomas More Prep-Marian leading the Monarchs to the regional championship game.
 
Jones is a native of Tulsa, Okla., where he attended Bishop Kelley High School and was part of the Tulsa Nationals Club Soccer team from 2000-07.
 
Jones has his NSCAA Goalkeeping Level 1 and 2 coaching diplomas and his USSF class C license and his USSF class National D license.
