Prior to TAMUCC: Ran and jumped for two season at Texas A&M-Kingsville for Glenn Sefcik and the Javelinas...qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor and Outdoor National meets...qualified in the high jump in both and the decathalon outdoors...jumped 6.9 meters (22’7-3/4") in the long jump while clearing 2.1 (6’10-3/4") meters in high jump, while scoring nearly 6,400 points in the decathalon...clocked 14.55 in the 110 hurdles...team’s MVP Indoor.

In High School: Competed at King High School in Kingsville for coach Eddie Rios....named the best hurdler in South Texas as a senior by the Caller Times...won district in triple jump and finised in region as a senior...also lettered in baseball and golf.

Personal: Born Oziel Alexander Garcia in Kingsville on June 8, 1988....son of Conrad and Gracie Garcia...has two siblings...majoring in ecology.
