2015 Indoor and Outdoor Track:
2014 Indoor and Outdoor Track: Opened her Islanders career with a seventh-place finish in the triple jump during the Houston Indoor Opener. Set personal records in the 60, 200, 400 along with the long jump during her freshman year. Placed eighth in the 400 at the Islanders Dash.
High School: Ran four years oftrack at Calhoun High School under coaches Kathy Hellums and Virginia Parson...Finished first at regionals in the triple jump and third in the 200-meter...Holds school records in the 100, 200, 4x100 and triple jump.
Personal: Daughter of Joe and Laura Ortiz...Born Aug. 21, 1995 in Port Lavaca, Texas...Has one sister.
